We would like to warn all competitors about the significant amount of weed currently present in the regatta course at the Bosbaan. Please be assured that we are doing everything within our power to collect and relocate the seaweed to mitigate its impact on the competition.

We would like to clarify that the Holland Beker does not have the legal authority or equipment to resolve this issue entirely. We have informed the local municipality and the Amsterdamse Bos Management who are responsible for the maintenance of the course, and we were explicitly forbidden from clearing the weed ourselves.

We are truly sorry for this inconvenience and would like to emphasize that when confronted with any issues, safety should always come first.

A lot of hard work has gone into getting the Bosbaan ready for the 2026 Staatsloterij World Rowing Championships over the past year. Unfortunately, not all work has been completed yet. This also impacts the Holland Beker 2026 Regatta.

On Friday 5 June, we were informed that the honorary pontoon, the natural grandstand and the area between them will not be available during our regatta. Consequently, the event village and the winner ceremonies have been relocated.

Adjusted Winner Ceremony Procedure

Winning a race is a special achievement, and we believe it is important to recognise all winners appropriately. As it will not be possible this year to dock directly at the honorary pontoon after racing, an adjusted ceremony procedure will be in place.

We kindly ask all winning crews to report to the desk in the medal tent, located within the event village, 40 minutes after their finish. The medal ceremony for finals will then take place at the nearby podium 45 minutes after the race. In this way, we hope to give all winners the celebration and recognition they deserve.

Additional Information Regarding the Bosbaan Renovation:

Missing buoy line
Due to a technical fault, the buoy line between lanes 5 and 6 is currently not in place.

Weed in regatta course
Please be advised that there is currently a significant amount of weed present in the Bosbaan regatta course. While we are working to mitigate the impact as best we can, we unfortunately do not have the capacity or authority to fully clear the water.

Temporary changing facilities
The permanent changing rooms are not available. As an alternative, temporary mobile changing facilities have been installed on site. These are free to use, although crews should be aware that less space may be available than usual.

Boat trailer parking
It will not be possible to position boat trailers adjacent to the pontoons. All boat trailers must instead be parked along the approach road to the venue.

Access to the Regatta Office
The Regatta Office remains located, as usual, on the ground floor of the finish tower. However, due to the ongoing works around the grandstand, access routes may differ slightly from those in previous years.

We understand that these circumstances require a degree of flexibility from everyone involved. We are doing everything possible to ensure that both the racing and the venue are organised to the highest standard. We appreciate your understanding regarding those matters that are beyond our control.

Het afgelopen jaar is er hard gewerkt om de Bosbaan gereed te maken voor de 2026 Staatsloterij World Rowing Championships. Helaas zijn nog niet alle werkzaamheden afgerond. Dit heeft ook gevolgen voor de Koninklijke Holland Beker 2026.

Op vrijdag 5 juni ontvingen wij het bericht dat het erevlot, de natuurlijke tribune en het gebied daartussen tijdens onze wedstrijden niet beschikbaar zullen zijn. Het evenemententerrein en de ceremonie voor alle winnaars zijn daarom verplaatst.

Aangepaste procedure ceremonie winnaars

Het winnen van een race is bijzonder en wij nemen graag de tijd om alle winnaars in het zonnetje te zetten. Omdat het dit jaar niet mogelijk is om direct na de race aan te leggen bij het erevlot, hanteren wij een aangepaste procedure.

Wij verzoeken alle winnende ploegen zich 40 minuten na hun finish te melden bij de desk in de medailletent op het evenemententerrein. De medailleceremonie van de finales vindt vervolgens 45 minuten na de race plaats op het nabijgelegen erepodium. Op deze manier hopen wij alle winnaars alsnog de viering te geven die zij verdienen.

Aanvullende informatie over de renovatie van de Bosbaan

Ontbrekende ballenlijn
Door een defect ontbreekt momenteel de ballenlijn tussen baan 5 en 6.

Wier in de Bosbaan
Houd er rekening mee dat er momenteel een grote hoeveelheid wier aanwezig is in de Bosbaan Hoewel we er alles aan doen om de impact hiervan zo veel mogelijk te beperken, hebben we helaas niet de capaciteit of de bevoegdheid om het water volledig vrij te maken.

Tijdelijke mobiele kleedkamers
De permanente kleedruimtes zijn niet volledig beschikbaar. Als alternatief zijn tijdelijke mobiele units op het terrein geplaatst. Deze zijn vrij te gebruiken, maar houd er rekening mee dat er mogelijk minder ruimte beschikbaar is dan normaal.

Plaatsing botenwagens
Het is niet mogelijk om botenwagens beneden bij de vlotten te plaatsen. Alle botenwagens dienen in de aanloop naar het terrein geplaatst te worden.

Bereikbaarheid secretariaat
Het secretariaat bevindt zich zoals altijd op de begane grond van de finishtoren. De werkzaamheden rondom de tribune kunnen de aanlooproute naar het secretariaat mogelijk bemoeilijken.

Wij begrijpen dat deze situatie om flexibiliteit vraagt. We doen er alles aan om de wedstrijden en het terrein zo goed mogelijk in te richten. Wij hopen op jullie begrip voor de zaken die wij door de omstandigheden niet kunnen veranderen.

On 7 July 1894, the first-ever eights race in the Netherlands was held. The race, part of the Koninklijke regatta, was won by A.S.R. Nereus. The ‘Eereprijs’, presented by rowing club De Amstel, became the property of D.S.R.V. Laga in 1899 after the club won it three times in succession.

The trophy has recently been fully restored and is now made available by D.S.R.V. Laga as a challenge cup. As a result, on Sunday 21 June – for the first time in more than 125 years – crews will once again compete for the oldest eights trophy in the Netherlands.

This historic race is part of a broader and exceptionally strong programme. More than 110 international boats have entered the Koninklijke-Holland Beker 2026, making this one of the most international editions in the history of the regatta. Rowers from the Netherlands and abroad will race across the full breadth of the field, from the youngest talents to the international elite.

A restored historic trophy, a distinctly international starting field and the setting of the Bosbaan: the Koninklijke-Holland Beker promises to be an edition of real significance this year.
